This table summarizes the Seoul subway fares raised on June 28, 2025 in Korean won (KRW) and U.S dollars (based on USD, 1 KRW = of 0.00071 USD) 

T-Money Card (You can charge your T-money card with cash)

- Description : Rechargeable transportation card. can be used on subways. buses, and even taxis 

- Where to buy : Airport, convenience stores (GS25, 7-Eleven, CU, etc.) Subway stations.

- Recommended for : Most visitors staying more than a day or planning multiple trips

Where to buy : Ticket vending machines at every subway station

How it works

1. Purchase at a machine, select your destination

2. Pay the fare (1,650 KRW for adults) + 500 KRW deposit

3. Use the card th enter and exit the subway

4. After your trip, return the card to a deposit refund machine

(located near the turnstiles) to get 500 KRW deposit back.

Distance-Based Extra Fare

Up to 10km : basic fare applies

10-50km : + 100 KRW (~$0.07) per 5km

Over 50km : + 100 KRW (~$0.07) per 8km
